A place for Roslindale to come together
The Roslindale Championship Series (RCS) is a project seeking to create a vibrant video game community in Roslindale using video game tournaments as a fun and engaging event to attract both the local community members and enthusiasts from the greater Boston area and beyond. Our pilot function is the RCS Opening Neighborhood Even, also known as RCS ONE.
The Halo Tournament
Halo is a video game franchise originally released in November 2001. Since then the franchise has sold more than 81 million copies of games worldwide leading to $6 billion in gross sales, making it one of the highest grossing media franchises of all time. Age groups from 18 to 40 regard the game fondly, and our team is no exception. We grew up playing Halo both online and at LAN parties. Two years ago we realized we could still have that experience and we began organizing Halo tournaments. We started small, hosting them in our houses. We invited friends, made teams, and had an absolute blast! We've added elements to these tournaments over time, including homebrewed beer, custom cocktails, streaming set ups, spectator screens, and Super Bowl style rings for the winners. Now we want to share our passion for these gatherings with our community, and providing a good time for all of our friends and neighbors. The tournament at RCS: ONE will be invitational only, but we hope to offer the opportunity to compete in future tournaments. We hope you'll swing by to check out this event, and if you have a good time, we hope you'll consider applying to be a participant in a future tournament!
